Why municipalities can do more with existing project knowledge

A municipal perspective on reusable project experience

Municipalities often work on comparable transformation challenges. Yet lessons from completed and ongoing projects usually remain scattered across documents, systems and people. Edwin Akkermans, senior portfolio manager at the Municipality of Haarlemmermeer and involved in iSyNAPS, sees an opportunity for collaboration between municipalities.

Similar questions, scattered experience

Every project is connected to its own environment, governance and organisation. At the same time, many questions return: which assumptions were made, where did dependencies arise, which capacity was required and which approach worked under similar conditions? When that experience cannot be found, the next team starts again.

From finding to applying

Making an archive searchable is not enough. Project professionals need to understand why an earlier lesson is relevant to the new context. Reuse therefore begins with a clear question and agreements on the source, purpose, access and responsibility.

AI helps select; professionals continue to judge

AI can help surface patterns, similarities and potentially relevant passages. The result remains a suggestion. A project lead, portfolio manager or other authorised professional checks the source, weighs the differences and determines what is useful.

Developing together from practice

iSyNAPS brings technology and municipal practice together in clearly defined modules. Municipalities can use one familiar case to explore whether project experience becomes available earlier and more purposefully in the work process. The findings then determine whether and how an application is developed further.

From insight to application

Which municipal challenge would you like to understand better?

Bring the question you are facing. Together, we determine which module, exploration or pilot is the right fit.
